While you are out shopping, particularly in the supermarket, the single thing that is in your face and everywhere you look, are labels. Advertisers and marketers have one shot at attracting your eye, listing key product specifications and generating a brand image so you will be unable to select any other product. So, from a manufacturer’s point of view much rests on this being just right. It is a bona fide skill to get all the variables right and people who are good at this get paid top dollar for their trade because they in turn bring in excellent dollar for their employers.
Most products that are packaged will arrive with a label, therefore as well as getting the advertising pitch just right the actual act of labeling the products is in addition very important. A lopsided label or a label that falls of is practically useless, so all the difficult work in design and marketing concept is undone if the product cannot be labeled appropriately. The hard working and unsung hero behind all of this is a label dispenser, they can come in many forms and can be operated manually or in an automated fashion.

Back as a student, I recall a job where we had to unpack hundreds of containers of glass bottles and label hundreds if not thousands of glass bottles by hand with a sticky label and then place them back in the packing containers. It was one of those character building positions that was unbelievably tedious and monotonous and most likely not very economical for our employer as they were paying four college students all day long to do this repetitive task. Similar to many things these days, it is at this moment possible to obtain equipment to do the work for you, but I speculate now what character building jobs will the students of today be doing?
Label dispensers are used to affix labels to all products bound for the supermarket shelves, one of the chief uses is to be able to uniquely recognize and differentiate products from one another. This is also useful to separate comparable products of the same range, for example different flavors of the same drinks range. So the labels are both useful for the buying customer so they select the right product, but also useful for the producer so they can recognize the right products as they are boxed up and distributed to the stores.

Label dispensers, which are sometimes also know as label applicators, are a mechanized device which greatly speeds up a procedure which used to be done manually, also since you take out human error, you trash less stickers and also apply your stickers more accurately, making the final product more professional in appearance. Label dispensers are used in a broad range of different sectors including, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, forensics, the music industry and many more.
